PASS Requirements


PASS: 4 Steps to Academic Success

First semester Applied Arts Probation Students must complete the following requirements in order to have your probation hold removed:

1. Complete the online Student Opportunity for Success Session (SOS) and quiz found here: http://advising.appliedarts.txstate.edu/PASS-Program/SOS-Session-.html

(After watching the online SOS presentation you will be prompted to complete the SOS Quiz.)

2. Schedule an advising appointment with your academic advisor. Appointments can be made online here: http://advising.appliedarts.txstate.edu/ or by calling 512-245-1490.

3.  Select ONE of the following Two options:

Option 1-Select THREE different PASS *workshops* you want to attend this semester. These workshops are listed on the PASS TRACS Site under announcements.

*Some workshops will require you to sign up for them. However, not all workshops will require you to sign up. The PASS workshop list on TRACS denotes which workshops require you to sign up.

                                                                    OR

Option 2-Complete the online PASS Alternative Assignment. The online assignment can be found here: http://advising.appliedarts.txstate.edu/PASS-Program/PASS-Alternative-Assignment.html

If you choose to complete the online assignment you will be emailed an excel document after you have completed the online assignment. You will then need to upload the assignment via the PASS TRACS site (under assignments in TRACS).

4. Once you have completed the 3 tasks listed above you will submit all required items via the TRACS PASS Log. The PASS Log can be found under the assignment tab.

Your probation hold will be released within 24 hours of the Advising Center 's receipt and verification of your PASS Assignment Log (Monday-Friday).

If you choose not to complete the PASS Program the College of Applied Arts Academic Advising Center WILL NOT remove your probation advising hold until late registration.

PASS Program Opens- September 13, 2017

PASS Priority Due Date: October 23, 2017

PASS Submissions Accepted until: December 7, 2017 @ 5:00pm

PASS II

Students on their second consecutive semester of academic probation must complete the following requirements in order to have your probation hold removed:

1.Schedule an advising appointment with your academic advisor. Appointments can be made online here: http://advising.appliedarts.txstate.edu/ or by calling 512-245-1490

2. Complete the PASS II Online Assignment. This Assignment can found here: http://advising.appliedarts.txstate.edu/PASS-Program/PASS-II-Assignment.html

3. Once you have completed the tasks listed submit your PASS II log via TRACS. Make sure you have completed all of the requirements prior to submitting your PASS Log (under assignments). Your probation advising hold will not be removed until the PASS II Program has been completed.  If you choose not to complete the PASS Program, the College of Applied Arts Academic Advising Center WILL NOT remove your probation advising hold until late registration.
